Apply for funding to support neurodegenerative disease research and impact.

The Silvi Foundation supports organizations advancing work in Alzheimer’s, dementia, ALS, and related neurodegenerative diseases. We invite research institutions, nonprofits, and mission-aligned programs to submit grant requests for consideration.

Our Grantmaking Priorities

The Silvi Foundation directs funding to initiatives with strong potential to advance understanding, early diagnosis, treatment, and care for individuals affected by neurodegenerative diseases. We prioritize efforts that demonstrate innovation and meaningful potential for impact. Proposals do not need to be large in scope, but they must clearly articulate the need, the intended impact, and the approach.

We consider proposals that focus on:

Early-stage scientific research with promising clinical or translational relevance

Innovative approaches to diagnosis or early detection

Studies and programs aimed at improving patient care and quality of life

Collaborative research spanning institutions or scientific disciplines

Community or patient-support initiatives connected to neurodegenerative disease

Eligibility

The Foundation accepts requests from:

  • Research institutions, universities, and medical centers
  • Nonprofit organizations focused on neurodegenerative disease
  • Programs serving individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s, dementia, ALS, or related conditions

At this time, we do not provide grants to individuals or for-profit entities.

If you are unsure whether your organization or project is a fit, you are welcome to reach out before submitting.

What We Look For

To help ensure thoughtful and mission-aligned grantmaking, each request is evaluated based on:

  • Scientific merit or programmatic strength
  • Potential for measurable impact
  • Clarity of goals, methodology, and outcomes
  • Organizational capacity to execute the proposed work
  • Alignment with the Foundation’s focus areas and values

We strive to support organizations that demonstrate both expertise and a commitment to advancing progress in neurodegenerative disease.

Collaboration & Commitment

The Silvi Foundation advances research into neurodegenerative diseases through funding, collaboration, and a commitment shaped by personal experience.

How to Apply

The Silvi Foundation uses a two-step grant review process designed to encourage thoughtful alignment and meaningful dialogue. Eligible organizations are invited to begin by submitting a brief introductory request through our online form (below). This initial submission helps our team and Board understand your organization, mission, and proposed work.

Selected organizations will be invited to participate in a follow-up conversation with a member of the Silvi Foundation board. Following that discussion, organizations may be asked to submit a full grant application for formal consideration. We encourage applicants to be clear and concise. Strong initial submissions focus on mission alignment, purpose, and potential impact rather than exhaustive detail.

The Review Process

Once an introductory request is submitted, it moves through the following review process:

Initial Review: The Foundation staff and board evaluate eligibility and alignment. Organizations that align with the Foundation’s priorities may be invited to a conversation with a board member or Foundation representative to further explore the proposed work.

Full Application (By Invitation Only): Following the discussion, select organizations may be invited to submit a full application, including detailed project information, budget, outcomes, and supporting documentation.

Board Decision: Final funding decisions are made by the Silvi Foundation Board. Applicants will be notified of outcomes by email.

Reporting Requirements

If selected for funding, grantees may be asked to provide brief progress updates or final reports summarizing outcomes, learnings, and impact. These reports help ensure responsible stewardship and share valuable insights with our community.

Reporting expectations will be outlined clearly at the time of award.
