The Silvi Foundation was born from a personal experience with neurodegenerative disease. Larry Silvi Sr., founder of Silvi Materials, battled and eventually succumbed to Alzheimer’s, while his wife Rose suffered from dementia, losses that left a lasting impact on the Silvi family and shaped their commitment to supporting meaningful research. What began as a personal experience became a clear sense of responsibility: to help advance understanding, prevention, treatment, and care for others facing the same challenges. Today, the Silvis carry that mission forward alongside the business Larry Silvi Sr. built. Now guided by the third generation of family leadership, Silvi Materials remains grounded in the same values of long-term thinking, accountability, and service. The Silvi Foundation is how the family extends those values beyond the company, turning a deeply personal story into action that supports patients, families, and scientific progress.
