The Silvi Foundation supports IND’s work to improve early detection, diagnosis, and understanding of neurodegenerative diseases through rigorous biomarker research.
IND (Parkinson’s Research and Education Foundation, Inc.) is a nonprofit organization conducting innovative work with strong potential to strengthen the scientific understanding of neurodegenerative diseases. What Our Funding Supports
The Silvi Foundation awarded IND a $100,000 grant to advance their blood-based biomarker research. This grant strengthens a research effort with the potential to improve early detection and support more precise clinical research across Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s disease, Lewy Body Dementia, Frontotemporal Dementia, and other related conditions.
This support helps fund:
Research-related equipment and laboratory supplies
Salaries for IND’s three-member lab team
Ongoing development of a national biorepository for biomarker research
Continued analysis of biomarkers that may indicate neurodegenerative disease risk
What IND Does
IND conducts research focused on identifying biomarkers that can reveal a person’s risk for neurodegenerative diseases before symptoms appear. Their work also aims to create a low-cost diagnostic test that could help individuals understand their risk and take preventive steps to support long-term neurological health.
