The Silvi Foundation marked its first major milestone during Silvi Materials’ annual company picnic at Lincoln Financial Field, bringing together employees, families, partners, and supporters for a day centered on community and shared purpose. The event served as the Foundation’s public introduction and an opportunity to formally outline its mission to advance research in Alzheimer’s, dementia, ALS, Parkinson’s, and related neurodegenerative diseases.
A highlight of the event was the formal announcement of the Foundation’s inaugural $100,000 grant to the Institute for Neurodegenerative Diseases (IND). The gift will support innovative blood-based biomarker research focused on improving early detection and diagnosis across multiple neurodegenerative conditions.
Dr. Richard Isaacson, a nationally recognized leader in Alzheimer’s prevention and research and a representative of IND, was in attendance for the announcement. His presence underscored the significance of the partnership and provided attendees with direct insight into how the Foundation’s support will contribute to advancing scientific understanding and strengthening clinical research.
The picnic also featured a special appearance by Cooper DeJean, who met with attendees and added to the day’s energy and enthusiasm. While the event maintained the spirit of celebration that defines Silvi’s annual gathering, it also marked a meaningful step forward in formalizing the Foundation’s long-term philanthropic commitment.
Through the Silvi Foundation, the Silvi family and Silvi Materials have established a focused platform for investing in research, partnerships, and initiatives that aim to improve outcomes for patients and families affected by neurodegenerative disease. The kickoff event represented the beginning of that ongoing effort.
