The Silvi Foundation is pleased to announce a $100,000 grant to the Institute for Neurodegenerative Diseases (IND) to support their pioneering work in blood-based biomarker research for neurodegenerative diseases. This grant represents the Foundation’s first major research partnership and reflects our mission to support initiatives with strong potential to improve early detection, diagnosis, and patient care.

IND conducts innovative research aimed at identifying biomarkers that can help determine a person’s risk for neurodegenerative diseases—including Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s disease, Lewy Body Dementia, and Frontotemporal Dementia—before symptoms appear. Their work also supports research efforts across the field by improving the accuracy and consistency of clinical trial design.

Funding from the Silvi Foundation will help support:

  • Laboratory equipment and supplies
  • Salaries for IND’s three-person research team
  • Continued development of a national biorepository
  • Ongoing analysis of biomarkers that may inform early diagnosis and risk assessment

IND’s scientific rigor, commitment to accessibility, and community-centered approach align closely with the Foundation’s priorities.

We are grateful for the opportunity to support IND’s work and look forward to the impact this partnership will help advance.
