The Silvi family is proud to announce the launch of the Silvi Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting research, early diagnosis, treatment, and community programs focused on neurodegenerative diseases. The Foundation reflects a commitment shaped by personal experience and the values that have guided Silvi Materials for more than 75 years.
The Foundation was created in honor of Larry Silvi Sr., founder of Silvi Materials, who lived with Alzheimer’s disease. His diagnosis had a profound impact on the Silvi family and underscored the importance of advancing research that helps individuals and families facing similar conditions. As several members of the family have participated directly in research studies—as patients and as contributing family members—the connection to this work is deeply personal.
Through the Silvi Foundation, the family extends these values to support organizations working to improve understanding, early detection, treatment, and care for individuals affected by Alzheimer’s, dementia, ALS, and related conditions. The Foundation’s work will focus on thoughtful grantmaking, responsible stewardship, and partnerships with institutions that demonstrate strong scientific rigor and meaningful potential for impact.
The launch of the Foundation marks an important milestone for the Silvi family and the broader community of researchers, caregivers, and families who share this mission. We look forward to supporting initiatives that advance progress in neurodegenerative disease and strengthen the communities we serve.
